How PNS reaches you
The Pirate Notification System (PNS) is Hampton University’s urgent notification system. Alerts come from the Hampton University Police Department or the Business Office, depending on the situation.
- Text messages to your mobile phone
- Calls to home, office, and mobile phones
- Email to your Hampton address (sent by default)
- Email to personal addresses you add
PNS is free. Standard text and phone rates from your carrier apply.
Getting registered
Students, faculty, and staff are added to PNS automatically, then invited by email to create a Member Portal account and add more ways to reach them. Register as soon as you get the invitation, because it expires.
