Our investigators follow serious cases through, and every report starts with someone who speaks up.
The Investigations Unit
The Investigations Unit is made up of University police officers selected by the Chief of Police for their investigative skill. Once selected, they receive additional training through a program supported by the Hampton Police Division, and the ranking member serves as unit supervisor.
Investigators take on cases that need detailed follow-up beyond the initial report taken by a patrol officer, with one goal: to vigorously pursue and prosecute criminal offenders to the fullest extent of the law.

How to report an incident
Faculty, staff, students, and visitors are encouraged to report criminal activity, suspected criminal activity, and all other emergencies directly to University Police. Every emergency report gets an immediate response, with priority given to crimes against persons and personal injuries.
